How to get around in Valencia
The city offers 43 bus lines, 9 metro lines, as well as 180 metropolitan bus lines and 6 suburban trains that will take you wherever you want to go. There are connections to the airport, downtown, trendy neighborhoods, the beach, l’Albufera, local towns and all other points of interest.
Most banks are open Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Only a few branches are open on Saturday mornings. There are 24-hour ATMs throughout the city, and most (Servired, 4B, etc.) offer international services.
Most hotels, restaurants and stores in Valencia accept major credit cards, such as American Express, VISA, Mastercard, 4B, Access and Diners Club.
The normal electrical voltage in Valencia is 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz. They are type C plugs, differentiated by having two rounded pins. Adapters are available at most hardware stores.
From the airport itself you will find many places to exchange currency, such as banks, bureaux de change, etc. One of the most central is RIA Money Transfer & Change: Currency exchange, traveler’s checks and money transfers. Centrally located in all major European cities.
Valencia time zone (GMT+1). In Spain we usually eat later than in other neighboring countries, you will have to take this into account when you want to go to eat at a restaurant, as they usually have lunch service between 13.00 and 16.00 hours, and dinner from 20.30 to 22.30 hours. Normal shopping hours are from 10.00 am to 8.30 pm.
Tipping is included in all prices and bills, so it is not considered mandatory. However, if the service received is considered satisfactory, especially in bars and restaurants, tipping is customary.
